Hi there, I'm Ale.
Well, my full name is Alejandro Martínez Ruiz, but I think ‘Ale’ is much quicker to say.
Professionally speaking, I’m a professional video content creator and hobbyist musician coming from Lima, Peru.
A big part of my professional work has been related to the field of video production, with a main focus on post-production skills such as video editing, motion graphics and color grading.
With these skills I’ve been able to provide value to e-learning businesses, startups and filmmaking studios alike.
Academic Formation
I studied in the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, placing me in the 5th Superior and graduating through this thesis as an Audiovisual Communicator.
My academic years covered a wide variety of topics such as script-writing, photography, lighting, audio and video recording, editing, project management and production.
During my college years I took a keen interest in all things audio and post-production. After returning from a pre-professional internship exchange in Mexico I soon discovered about motion graphics animation, from which I took a new interest in my repertoire of professional skills.
In addition, after graduating I took courses in motion graphics animation and community management, focusing mainly on video marketing and personal branding.
Further Education
Apart from my main video post-production specialty, my search for knowledge and learning has provided me over the years with a select number of additional skills such as video marketing strategies and front-end web design with WordPress (specifically personal websites, blogs, portfolios and landing pages for professional services and events). All of this to provide you with premium services with much more value beyond online video production.
It may seem kind of unusual coming from someone with my profile but I’ve rarely watch movies, TV series and other things that many filmmakers seem to ingest daily. I’m just not too keen on filmmaking actually.
What I can say is that what I watch are mainly videos and documentaries over web platforms like YouTube, CuriosityStream and Nebula.
As you can see, I have a predilection over videos that inform, teach while having a visually interesting way of doing it.
Language Skills
Last but not least, in addition to Spanish 🇪🇸 as my native language, I am also fluent in English 🇺🇸, can moderately hold conversations in Portuguese 🇧🇷 and I’m also starting to learn Dutch 🇳🇱 on my own with some cool YouTube videos.
Music, my dearest creative outlet
I’m an avid musician, I have experience playing guitar, harmonica, ukelele, cajon, synths and bass guitar (
my favorite instrument ever!). Well, I also know how to sing a bit (at least well enough to harmonize with others while playing).
I was mainly self-taught in the techniques of each instrument and in music theory thanks to YouTube (one more reason why I am so grateful about the existence of educational videos).

🍑 Tonceitoys is the name of my musical project in which I play and record every instrument by myself.
If I had to describe the type of songs I make, I think it would be something like “instrumental songs for daydreamers”.
Originally, the name first appearance was in the form of a YouTube channel focused on videogames and music topics that I created when I was 14 in early 2009.

Aditionally, I used to have a blog in which I occasionally shared practical information and discoverings that I made along my professional and personal experiences. The main topics I covered were video marketing tips, personal productivity tools, as well as sharing tips on how to work more efficiently with the creative services I offer.

Right now I’m re-structuring my website to reflect better what I’ve been doing lately.
Oh, and also translating my website to Dutch. I still haven’t got to it entirely but I’m surely keeping the most important pages updated before publishing them.
